Inspirational Blog

I have been looking through different blogs to find one that was inspiring to me and made me think of more creative things to do with pottery. My favorite one I found was by Emily Murphy. It has tons of posts and a lot of interesting creative ways to glaze also. The blog is http://potteryblog.com/.

Pottery Wheel

The pottery wheel has been a challenge for me ever since I tried it my sophomore year. I am supposed to make miniature cups and bowls on the pottery wheel. It started off a lot better then it did years ago when I first tried it. I was able to center the clay easily but choosing how much clay I needed was the biggest problem for me. The clay pieces are supposed to be miniature but I started off with to much clay every time. I would make nice looking cups but they would be a lot bigger then they were supposed to be. They would have all the shapes that I sketched but they were more then double the size I was supposed to make them. Overall it went a lot better then it has in the class I just have problems with making my clay pieces the right size.
